    We used to do this in school, but as I remember it, we did not remove the hook, we just wrapped the yarn around the other side of the loom, then went on, wrapping every side alternately. I remember that we made scarves from this, made two different color strips, then combined them into a striped scarf. It’s funny that I stumbled upon this video from you, as I actually tried searching for this a while ago, but I could not find anything on it. Now I know that the reason was that I tried searching for “gimping” (which is what it is called in Norway), while you obviously call it hairpin lace! So thanks for letting me know! :)
