Stating that it took a while to finish is dress is not a mere euphemism.
I cut it in October and went through numerous minor nevertheless time consuming re-adjustments from January up to a few weeks ago .
The Denim Skirt (can’t do hyperlinks with mac) I created last spring inspired me to make a dress which in a sense was not the most nerve wracking part; I then used the beautiful components of the Nancy coat such as the gathered yoke and collar-which I narrowed down in width
Adapting the yoke to the creation and placing was the most difficult part of it. During the process, I had also purchased a beautiful Stockman Mannequin on EBay to ease up the yoke placement on the shoulders. The fabric was uncompromising in the sense that its fragility (or bad quality) didn’t allow me repeated stitch reaping. And then, I finally decided to stop the fussiness and to take some pictures because…
dang it, patience is a form of neurosis in the end and after all, I am not working for Coco ‘F*£$%^”g’ Chanel… yep I like the good English swearing …old style…:)

Good HEAVENS LADY !!! Where does your creativity
and dexterity end !!!
You knit and sew the clothes of my dreams! SO SO SO
beautiful.
What type of material did you use? It looks like it could
be a raw linen (finer) or a wool blend of some sort.
I absolutely love the colour and the gathered detail
from the coat is gorgeous.
I would love to see a close-up of the ribbon (?) you
used to define the edge where the gathering joins
the back and front panel.
Fantabulou-SOH!

Your creativity always make me speechless! The dress is amazing. I love your gathered yoke, of course, but … actually everything looks perfect. Great style.

I love that you picked this color. It really goes with this style.
I adore the pleats of skirt part, the detailed seams on bodice and
the adapted yoke and colar. The only thing that I don’t care much is
the sleeve style even though it went well with the dress.
