I made this Elvis (circa Aloha TV Special) costume for my nephew, Colin, for Halloween! The jumpsuit is made from white cotton jersey with an elastic waistband to help prevent sagging. The belt is made from two layers of jersey with heavy interfacing in the middle, and I topstitched over the edges to hold it all together. I used gold chain to hang off the belt, and surprisingly, he didn’t even try to pull it off!! Most of the eagle motif is made from puff paint (red, blue, gold) and iron-on gold stars. The leg inserts at the bottom are red lycra, and the cape can be removed—it’s held on with three snaps.
white cotton jersey, red lycra, 1" elastic, heavy interfacing, puff paint, 10" zipper, iron-on gold stars
