Ladies, please do your boyfriends, husbands, sons, brothers and other significant males who might be lucky enough to receive a nice pair of these shorts a HUGE favour and leave out that truly heinous cheese-grater like lining fabric.
Why anyone ever thought it was a good idea to line shorts at all is beyond me. Whoever thought THAT stuff was good to go around one’s squashy bits quite clearly hadn’t thought it through! Believe me when I say it is not a nice feeling.
I don’t own a single pair of lined trunks (any that come with lining meet a pair of scissors the moment I get them home) and have never had any issues with “falling out”. It takes far less effort to stay in unlined shorts than to stay in a kilt or other similarly open garment and they don’t come with cheese-grater-pants – so there’s no need in shorts either.
If you know someone who can’t stay inside, educate them about the finer points of modesty (all you skirt-wearers know plenty about that) rather than inflicting more of that nasty, scratchy lining fabric on the world.
Really… built-in underpants are a crime.
Just say “no”.

Hey Squirrelypoo, guess what. You are not going to believe this but so far we are all girls! Not that we have not been trying to get some guys in here but so far the most awesome picks for all positions happened to be girls. At least we have Phil Torrone from Make Magazine who rents a little office space from us and if we are in urgent need for fittings we go to the 6th floor and get the etsy guys to help out. Unfortunately we could not get them to model this time…

fun! now we can have couples’ swimsuits! Though I’m guessing by the clothesline photo that none of the guys in your offices were brave enough to model swimwear? ;)

yep, I think I might have to make myself a pair of shorts from this pattern. And cross fingers that the nice weather holds out!

I first thought this was a girls pattern for shorts, which I’d love to sew. They’re for men, but I think I could use this pattern, too ;)
